6/14/12 5th Annual Psomas Paper Yacht Race on June 28, 2012
Ahoy There!
Remember folding paper boats and floating them lazily downstream—or maybe in your bathtub? It was easy, fun and for most of us, part of being a kid. On Thursday June 28, join us as we float some boats to give a better chance to kids living in violence-prone, impoverished neighborhoods. Here’s how we’ll do it….
Take that paper-folding expertise from your youth and apply it to creating a miniature yacht or two or three! Whether you create a miniature version of an America’s Cup winner or fold your trusty vessel when you arrive, your entry in the 5th Annual Psomas Paper Yacht Race helps create paths out of poverty for children, youth and their families.
Not the seafaring type? You can also bid on silent auction items, or come dressed as a pirate or Viking and compete in a nautical costume contest! All proceeds, which will be donated in the names of the winners, will benefit Para Los Niños. Discounted parking is available for $5 at the City National Tower.
So what are you waiting for? Thousands of L.A. children are waiting for their ship to come in.
RSVP through June 27, 2012, by visiting tinyurl.com/yachtchallengeregistration and entering yacht race along with your sponsorship level in the comments section of the donation form. Walk-up registrations the day of the event are welcome, but only 100 boats can enter so it’s best to sign up early!
