Early Childhood

Para Los Niños provides high quality, enriched, nurturing child development services to approximately over 800 children from primarily low-income families at seven sites in Los Angeles County. Our sites are located in Downtown Los Angeles – including the Skid Row area – and in Pico-Union, East Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, and South El Monte. The overarching goal of our child development centers is that children will be prepared to succeed in kindergarten and beyond, and that their families will receive the help and referrals they need to support their children’s success.

The curriculum at all the child development centers utilizes best practices in early childhood education, including the Reggio Emilia approach, developed in Italy and recognized internationally for its extraordinary success. Through child-initiated, long-term projects and careful documentation by teachers of children’s self-expression, Para Los Niños creates school and classroom environments that spark curiosity, promote inquiry and foster critical thinkers, as well as heighten parental involvement.
