Child Development

At Para Los Niños, the educational journey begins in our Child Development Centers. Caring for children as young as six weeks old, we provide age-appropriate, professional, educational programs that support each child throughout all stages of their development. During the first years of life, it is critical for children to learn language skills and acquire the developmental building blocks they need for comprehension. As they transition into elementary school and on into high school and college, Para Los Niños provides these children with a solid educational and personal foundation that gives them the same chances every child should have to fulfill their individual dreams and goals.
With centers located in Central City Los Angeles (“Skid Row”), Pico-Union, South Los Angeles, South El Monte, and Ontario, Para Los Niños offers a variety of licensed child care and development services to impoverished families. More than 100,000 low-income children in Los Angeles County are on waiting lists for childcare. Para Los Niños helps address our region’s overwhelming need for quality affordable care. During the last fiscal year, 98.7% of clients had incomes below the poverty line – with an average monthly income below $1,100 for a family of four. In Los Angeles today, reliable, permanent childcare for one child costs approximately $650 a month for infants and toddlers and $500 a month for children ages 2 to 5. Families served by Para Los Niños can barely afford food and housing let alone child care expenses.
