FAMILY SERVICES

Family Services

Para Los Niños’ Family Support Centers offer local families comprehensive support services designed to prevent child abuse and strengthen families.

Emergency Assistance

The Centers provide emergency assistance for families as well as services designed to promote positive and sustainable change for families living in some of the poorest neighborhoods in Central and South Central Los Angeles, Watts, Willowbrook, Rampart, Pico Union, MacArthur Park and surrounding neighborhoods. Crisis intervention services include food vouchers, transportation tokens, diaper and clothing distribution, and access to emergency shelters. Staff also help families access the full range of services available at the agency and throughout the communities we serve. Children and families are supported through coordinated and comprehensive supports that build on family strengths, promote resiliency in children and families, and address risk factors that often contribute to child abuse and neglect.

Emotional, Social & Educational Support

Once critical needs for food, clothing and shelter are met, Para Los Niños works with families to address emotional, social, educational, and related concerns. By integrating a full range of assistance to meet a continuum of child and family needs, we work with families to identify the root causes of their concerns, co-create solutions, and offer them the comprehensive emotional, social and educational supports they need to develop healthier environments for their young children.
