Our Approach

Para Los Niños Early Education Program uses an integrated approach to educating the whole child within the context of his or her family. PLN promotes school readiness of participating children by supporting the health, nutrition, mental health, social/emotional, and cognitive development. PLN participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program providing nutritious meals for children.

In addition to providing quality services to participating children, PLN supports parent/family development with the provision of training, linkages to other services, and opportunities for leadership development.

Para Los Niños Head Start

Para Los Niños Early Education program provides services to young children (ages six weeks through entry into kindergarten) and their families in 6 locations in the greater Los Angeles area. Our program is designed to promote optimal child development, foster critical thinking, spark curiosity, promote inquiry and heighten parental involvement. Our goal is to create early learning environments that enable children to develop the skills to be the best they can be now, throughout their school careers and in life.

Para Los Niños’ early education services are funded by the Los Angeles County Office of Education Head Start and Early Learning Division. Funding from these sources enable us to be responsive to the needs of eligible children and families in a variety of settings: part-day state preschool classrooms, part-day Head Start classrooms, infant and toddler classrooms, and partnered Head Start/state preschool classrooms that support families who need a quality full-day option.
